Beginning with the 2009-2010 school year and continuing thereafter, all students entering the SIXTH GRADE or who have had their 11th birthday must provide a current immunization report that includes the MENINGOCOCCAL vaccine, Tdap booster, and TWO doses of Varicella.  We will be tracking the sixth graders for the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals.

There's no reason to sacrifice great taste for nutrition. These dinner recipes are healthy, tasty and designed with kids' palates in mind.
  • Healthy Macaroni and Cheese Recipe - The healthy part of this recipe is the addition of pureed butternut squash to the sauce. It adds a slight sweetness to this recipe.
  • Vegetarian Chili Recipe - This chili recipe is full of heart-healthy vegetables and beans. And the flavors meld together in a sweet, lightly spiced way that appeals to kids.
  • Grilled Chicken Breasts with Soy Honey Sauce - The sweet-salty combination of soy sauce and honey gives these marinated chicken breasts great flavor.

Healthy Recipes for Kids - Desserts

Stephanie Gallagher
Everybody has a different definition of healthy - low fat, low sugar, low carb, low calorie? When it comes to cooking for kids, my emphasis is on high nutrition. These healthy desserts not only have less fat, sugar and calories than many desserts, but they also have more vitamins, antioxidants and fiber, too. Check out:
  • Yogurt Sundaes - The waffle cone bowl, chocolate chips, fresh raspberries and drizzle of honey give these sundaes the look and taste of ice cream sundaes, but with less fat, more protein and fiber.
  • Low Fat Brownies - These start with a regular brownie mix!
  •  Healthy Chocolate Chip Cookies - Less fat and sugar and more fiber make these chocolate chippers a nice alternative without sacrificing flavor.
